Nine Inch Nails releases their latest under a Creative Commons license

Posted in music by dotmrt on March 8th, 2008

Nine Inch Nails released their new instrumental album under a Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial Share Alike license, at least the first quarter of it. Ghosts I. I think it’s not a musical masterpiece, but I’ve always liked the NIN sound, so I’m looping it. As much as I understand, this is the first big artist releasing his music under a CC license. Too bad, it isn’t the whole album. It would do them good to get out of all the nasty corporate releasing business. Perhaps they’d get some money out of it. Until then, respect.
